Intel, Apple Inc. share gains contribute to Dow's 175-point climb

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Monday afternoon with shares of Intel and Apple Inc. delivering the strongest returns for the blue-chip average. Shares of Intel INTC, +2.93% and Apple Inc. AAPL, +2.83% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.32% was most recently trading 175 points higher (0.5%). Intel’s shares are up $2.50 (3.9%) while those of Apple Inc. have gained $3.72 (3.1%), combining for a roughly 41-point bump for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Cisco CSCO, +2.69%, Microsoft MSFT, +2.45%, and Inc. CRM, +1.49%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
