Chevron, Microsoft share gains contribute to Dow's 100-point jump

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading up Wednesday morning with shares of Chevron and Microsoft leading the way for the index. Shares of Chevron CVX, +2.28% and Microsoft MSFT, +1.10% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.39% is trading 100 points higher (0.3%). Chevron’s shares are up $2.12 (2.2%) while those of Microsoft have climbed $4.38, or 1.5%, combining for an approximately 43-point bump for the Dow. Walgreens Boots WBA, +1.80%, Dow Inc. DOW, +1.68%, and American Express AXP, +1.75% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the Dow equates to a 6.58-point swing.
