Buoyed by positive growth for shares of Walgreens Boots and Caterpillar, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Wednesday afternoon. Shares of Walgreens Boots WBA, +3.10% and Caterpillar CAT, +1.41% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.65% is trading 281 points (0.8%) higher. Walgreens Boots’s shares have risen $1.44 (3.0%) while those of Caterpillar are up $4.07 (2.0%), combining for an approximately 36-point boost for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include UnitedHealth UNH, +1.33%, Amgen Inc. AMGN, +1.08%, and Chevron CVX, +1.96%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.58-point swing.
