Dow ends more than 350 points higher; tech shares bounce after Monday rout

Stocks ended sharply higher Tuesday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite taking back a big chunk of the previous session’s rout. The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average rose around 355 points, or 1%, to close near 34,358, according to preliminary figures, more than reversing Monday’s fall. The S&P 500 advanced around 49 points, or 1.1%, finishing near 4,349. The Nasdaq, meanwhile, jumped around 187 points, or 1.3%, to finish near 14,443, after dropping 2.1% on Monday.
