Dow soars nearly 700 points on gains for Goldman Sachs, Boeing shares

Behind strong returns for shares of Goldman Sachs and Boeing, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is soaring Tuesday afternoon. Shares of Goldman Sachs GS, +5.49% and Boeing BA, +5.71% are contributing about half of the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +2.43% was most recently trading 690 points higher (2.2%). Goldman Sachs’s shares have climbed $17.08, or 5.7%, while those of Boeing have gained $7.72, or 5.2%, combining for an approximately 163-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Nike NKE, +4.92%, Dow Inc. DOW, +3.84%, and Walt Disney DIS, +4.06%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
