India on path to become US$ 30 trillion economy in next 30 years: Mr. Piyush Goyal

On the strength of its robust GDP growth, India is on track to have a US$ 30 trillion economy in the following 30 years, according to Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, Mr. Piyush Goyal.

He said that India’s economy is currently between US$ 3-3.5 trillion and will soon reach US$ 5 trillion while speaking at an event sponsored by the FICCI Ladies Organization. He added that the target of a US$ 30 trillion GDP would be reached sooner or later at a CAGR of 8%.

The minister claimed that women would be crucial to India’s development and that they would always have a place at the high table.
