NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Monday.
Shares of Phoenix Mills(up 0.58 per cent) and Sunteck Realty(up 0.07 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate(down 5.56 per cent), Godrej Properties(down 3.42 per cent), Macrotech Developers(down 2.86 per cent), SOBHA(down 2.53 per cent) and DLF(down 2.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Realty index closed 1.98 per cent down at 390.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 258.6 points at 17154.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 897.28 points at 58237.85.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 2 ended in the green, while 47 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Binani Ind, Sona Hi Sona Jewell, Shiv Aum Steels, Soma Textiles and Vera Synthetic hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Lead Reclaim and Rubber Products Ltd., GRM Overseas, Visagar Polytex, Supreme Engineering and Sanwaria Consumer hit their fresh 52-week lows.
