Vietnam’s gold price plunged while global rates held steady Tuesday afternoon.
Saigon Jewelry Company gold dropped 1.50% to VND85.3 million per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.
Gold ring fell 1.29% to VND84.5 million per tael.
Globally Gold prices held steady on Tuesday after a 3% drop in the previous session, supported by increased safe-haven demand following President-elect Donald Trump’s pledge to impose tariffs on all imports from Canada, Mexico and China, Reuters reported.
Spot gold was steady at $2,625.48 per ounce, after hitting its lowest since Nov. 18 earlier in the session.
U.S. gold futures edged 0.3% higher to $2,625.80.
