The central government has taken a major decision on hallmarking, which guarantees purity to gold and silver jewellery buyers. The government has said that after March 31, 2023, gold jewellery without hallmarking will not be sold anywhere. The Consumer Affairs Department has taken this decision in the interest of the consumer. After the new decision, only gold and jewellery with HUID hallmark will be allowed to be sold from April 1.
