
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Friday.
Shares of Laurus(up 1.8 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.64 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.33 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.08 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(up 1.05 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sanofi India(down 1.44 per cent), Cipla(down 0.88 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.64 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.62 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.51 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.18 per cent up at 11781.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 272.45 points at 17594.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 899.62 points at 59808.97.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Tata Steel, Suzlon Energy, PNB and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Imagicaaworld Entert, ISMT Ltd, Finolex Cables, Manav Infra Projects and TD Power Sys hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shigan Quantum Technologies Ltd., Future Retail, Shreeoswal Seeds, Viaz Tyres Ltd. and Raj Oil Mills hit their fresh 52-week lows.
