Dow Slides Nearly 300 Points in Afternoon Trading

The Dow’s struggles continued in afternoon trading, but UnitedHealth Group was still the difference between another record close and today’s pullback.

The Dow was down 280 points, or 0.7%. The S&P 500 was down 0.7%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 0.9%. More than half the stocks in all three were trading higher.

For the Dow, UnitedHealth on its own shaved off 310 points. It was struggling as Wall Street gave its latest earnings report a thumbs down.
