The invited Saudi Arabian squad looks to make itself known in its first CONCACAF Gold Cup match on Sunday night against Haiti.
The Gold Cup has been a staple of the continental football landscape since 1991. While the U.S., Canada and Mexico have dominated the tournament, it has given smaller countries the opportunity to play at a high level.

Like what we have seen in the last two editions of the Gold Cup, a representative from Asia has been invited to play in the tournament. Previously, Qatar has been in the invitee. This time around, Saudi Arabia, the eventual hosts of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, enters the tournament.
The country has fared well in continental competition, having won the AFC Asian Cup three times in its history, with Saudi Arabia also competing in each of the past two World Cups, not making it out of the group stage.
Haiti has not made it out of the group stage at the Gold Cup since the 2019 edition of the tournament. However, the Caribbean nation has a little momentum heading into this Gold Cup, as they earned promotion back up to League A in the CONCACAF Nations League with their performance this past year.
