The United States aims to secure the top spot in Group D of the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup on Sunday night when it takes on a desperate Haiti squad.
The U.S. enters Sunday’s festivities already having punched its ticket to the quarterfinals once again, though they certainly have not been a dominant force. After receiving a little bit of push back from Trinidad and Tobago in their first match of the tournament, the Yankees narrowly escaped with a win over upstart Saudi Arabia on Thursday night.

They enter the final Matchday with first place in the group pretty much locked up. All they have to do is not lose to Haiti by a greater goal margin than if Saudi Arabia were to beat Trinidad.
That other match has an effect on Haiti, which has a chance to sneak into the Gold Cup quarters for the first time since 2019. Thanks to a 1-1 draw against Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, if the Haitians were to somehow pull off an upset, and Saudi Arabia were to at most draw with Trinidad, Haiti could advance to the knockout stage.
Unfortunately for Haiti, who is 9-6-8 against the Americans all-time, they have not beaten the U.S. since 1973.
