The Los Angeles Chargers will have eight different uniform combinations for the 2025 season after unveiling new gold and navy blue alternates.

On Tuesday, the club showed off their new alternate jerseys that will be used along with their standard white road jersey and powder blue home jersey.

The Chargers’ official website describes the new navy alternates as a “modern throwback” with a strong resemblance to the original, but with “several subtle” updates thrown in.

Their biggest change to the navy look is the modernized navy helmet. They will wear the Super Chargers uniforms in Week 8 for their Thursday night game against the Minnesota Vikings when Rodney Harrison will be inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame.

If you’re a superstitious person, it’s probably in the Chargers’ best interest to tweak their navy look. They are winless in six games with their previous navy color rush jerseys since 2020.

Chargers president of business operations A.G. Spanos said in a release the addition of the gold jersey to the in-game rotation stems in part from how popular they have been among fans in the team shop.

“Nike had previously done a retail version of the 2020 jerseys in gold,” said Spanos.
“It sold quite well and had really good word of mouth. In fact, in my own household, it was my kids’ favorite uniform. It definitely appeals to the younger demographic.”

Los Angeles will debut its new gold jersey in a game four days before the Vikings matchup. The Chargers will use the alternate look for their home game against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 19.

The new looks for the Chargers come at a time of high optimism for the franchise. They finished 11-6 and made the playoffs in Jim Harbaugh’s first season as head coach. It was their most wins in a season since 2018 (12-4).

Harbaugh and the Chargers will open the 2025 season against the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil on Sept. 5.
