MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — EDITOR’S NOTE: The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 21-year-old man for the murder of 75-year-old Robert “Bob” Boyajian. Click here for the latest details.
Well-known real estate agent Robert “Bob” Boyajian remains missing in Madera County Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Office says the 75-year-old was last seen Saturday in Bass Lake, where he lives and works.
“He knows a lot of people. I can’t even count how many people he knows, but he’s be the type of person like, ‘Hey, let’s go to lunch’ and then he would buy, he wouldn’t let you buy,” Boyajian’s longtime friend and colleague, Clarence Stansberry, said.
Friends like Stansberry say it’s unlike Bob to go silent.
“He always answers his phone on weekends or whatever, so this is really abnormal,” Stansberry explained.
The Sheriff’s Office says Boyajian’s vehicle was found at his home, which Stansberry says is unusual.
“He always had his truck,” Stansberry stated.
Boyajian has been in the real estate business for nearly 45 years and is well-known in both the Bass Lake and Fresno communities.
“He was always a good person. He always helped people,” Stansberry said. “He’d give the shirt off his back basically if I needed anything, I could just ask him.”
On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office briefly posted – then removed – an image of a possible person of interest.
We’re blurring the image to protect the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office tells us they removed the post for the same reason.
The post claimed the individual used Boyajian’s ATM card in North Fresno.
“I hope they find him. Period. Maybe he just went off on a fluke, but that’s not his character,” Stansberry said.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation is ongoing and encourages anyone with information to call them at 559-675-7770.
