Has the political backlash to sustainable investing scared off investors? Quite the opposite, says Patrick McVeigh, president and chief investment officer at Reynders, McVeigh Capital Management, a pioneering investment firm in Boston that now manages $4 billion of assets. “We all want hope in our life, and part of what we offer is this idea that your portfolio can actually make a difference in the world,” says McVeigh, who founded the business 20 years ago with partner Chat Reynders. “So we’re seeing people taking action who previously might have been happy to sit on the sideline and let the government take care of things.”
