Gold prices marginally increased by ₹660 per 10g across major Indian cities in early trade on Monday, December 1, supported by global factors. Silver price also surged significantly by ₹3,000 per kg, led by strong global demand amid reduced supply.
Gold and silver prices rallied in futures trade on Friday, November 28, amid strong global cues and hopes of a possible rate cut by the US Federal Reserve next month. In November, the gold price increased by more than 5% while hovering near record high levels. On the other hand, the silver price increased nearly 22% in November, taking its overall rally to more than 90% so far in 2025.

Prices of gold climbed slightly by ₹66 per gram for 24 carat in India to trade at ₹13,048 during early hours on Monday. The price of 22 karat gold also gained ₹60 per gram to ₹11,960 on Monday, while the 18 carat gold, 999 gold, rose ₹49 per gram to ₹9,786.

The white metal has witnessed a strong surge in price this month. Continuing the upward momentum, the silver price rallied ₹3,000 per kilogram on Monday to trade at ₹1,88,000 per kg. It has emerged as the strongest-performing metal of 2025, delivering returns that have far exceeded gold.
In 11 months of 2025, so far, the prices of silver have almost doubled, marking one of the sharpest rallies in the metal’s history. In the last 12 months, silver prices have rallied nearly 90% compared to a 59% jump witnessed for gold during the same period.
