Gold, Silver Rate Today LIVE: Gold and silver prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) opened sharply higher on Tuesday, following gains in international bullion prices.
MCX gold rate today for April futures contracts opened 2.78% higher at ₹1,48,000 per 10 grams level as against its previous close of ₹1,41,669 level. The yellow metal surged more than 6% to near ₹1.53 lakh level.
MCX silver price for March futures contracts opened 4% higher at ₹2,45,711 per kg as compared to its previous close of ₹2,36,261 level. MCX silver rate jumped nearly 13% to near ₹2.67 lakh per kg level.
Gold, Silver Prices Resume Rally
Gold and silver prices in the international market resumed their rally, recovering some of the losses seen in previous sessions. Gold price was on track for its biggest daily gain since November 2008, while silver price also staged a comeback after its steepest two-day drop in decades.
Spot gold price climbed 5.8% to $4,935.56 an ounce. US gold futures for April delivery rose 6.6% to $4,958.50 per ounce.
Silver price gained 10% to $87.40 an ounce, after suffering its biggest one-day loss on record on Friday with a 27% slump. It fell by another 6% on Monday.
Analysts see the bull run continuing and expect the previous metals to notch fresh record highs later this year.
