Figure skating fans online are not happy on Wednesday.
After a questionable rhythm dance portion of the figure skating ice dance competition at the Winter Olympic Games, things got worse in the free dance section of the event.
Following poor scores given to superstar Team USA duo Madison Chock and Evan Bates by the French judges a few days ago, viewers were wondering how they would be scored heading into the ultimate round of the competition.
Although Chock and Bates put on a strong performance in their attempt for gold, they settled for silver behind the French duo of Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron.
Beaudry and Cizeron came into Wednesday as the leaders and held that small lead through the free dance portion to capture the top place on the podium.
The French judge gave the French pair their top score in the rhythm dance section, putting them six points ahead of their American rivals, the widest margin on the panel.

After the results were handed down, with Beaudry and Cizeron celebrating the win, social media was ablaze with angry fans from the United States and across the world over the judging.
Judging has been a topic of debate in figure skating for as long as the sport has existed, but this is one of the most discussed choices in recent memory.
