Taylor Mill native Carly Pearce is returning to Greater Cincinnati for a performance at the Voices of America Country Music Festival, Aug. 7.

Pearce grew up on Cincinnati-style chili and goetta, and she has memories of going to King Island. So, ahead of her West Chester Township show, The Enquirer got some of her Cincy-area hot takes.

Check out how the country music star feels about some of our hometown staples below, and read The Enquirer’s full feature on Pearce here.

Gold Star or Skyline Chili?

Pearce: I’m a Gold Star person, which I feel like is going to make people die.

I like a three-way with the oyster crackers and a cheese coney.

I would eat both (Skyline or Gold Star). I’ll eat any of it.

Kings Island or Dollywood?

(Note: Pearce moved from Northern Kentucky to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, as a teenager so she could become a performer at Dollywood.)

Pearce: Kings Island. Oh my gosh, I had a season pass my whole life. I loved it. Loved it, loved it.

Carly Pearce said she had gold passes to Kings Island growing up.

Graeter’s Ice Cream or United Dairy Farmers?

Pearce: I’m a Graeter’s girl for sure.

I used to love cookies and cream as a kid and then I also love chocolate chip cookie dough. They’re (the chocolate chips) crazy. They’re not a chip. They’re like a whole thing.

Party Source or Jungle Jim’s?

Pearce: Party Source. I never went to Jungle Jim’s. It was too far away.

Florence Y’all Water Tower or Touchdown Jesus?

Pearce: Oh my God, I’m dead. Definitely the Florence water tower.

Goetta or Cincinnati chili?

Pearce: I grew up going to Goettafest. I’ve eaten goetta my whole life, but I would say chili. I freaking love Gold Star. I love it.
