Those who don’t buy a medal before they sell out can wear a virtual one using effects on TikTok and Snapchat.
For athletes, the Olympics are one of the most exciting, high-stress events they’ll experience in their entire careers. With major sponsorships, public appearances, and all eyes on them, the pressure to perform couldn’t be more intense. While most people hope Team USA will go for the gold, Hershey’s is sharing a different message: Being in your happy place is more valuable than being in first place.

The chocolate brand aired an ad that features Olympians and Paralympians watching heartwarming messages from their families. (They cried. I cried. You’ll cry too.) And when their relatives make a surprise visit on set, they give Team USA athletes a token of support: a Hershey’s Olympic medal made from milk chocolate.

Each limited-edition chocolate disc is embossed with a mountain design, wrapped in gold foil, and attached to a Hershey’s-branded ribbon. You may have seen Olympic champions bite their medals at the awards, but this is one you’ll actually want to eat.
I can barely run a 10-minute mile, let alone complete at an Olympic level. While a real medal is out of reach for most of us, Hershey’s is now selling its chocolate medal so everyone can feel like a winner. Starting on February 13th, the limited-edition treat will be available on TikTok Shop, then at The Hershey’s Store the following day.
For $5.99, you can get your hands on a medal of your own and join the ranks of athletes like speedskater Erin Jackson and figure skater Jason Brown. But be warned: this one-time-only release is only available while supplies last.

If you miss your chance to buy a real chocolate medal, you’re still in luck. Hershey’s has also rolled out a digital version you can “wear,” using effects on Snapchat and TikTok. Winning a medal without even getting off the couch? I’m sold.
