The U.S. women’s hockey team just keeps rolling.

In Monday’s semifinal, Team USA cruised past Sweden 5-0 to advance to the gold medal game.

Cayla Barnes, Taylor Heise, Abbey Murphy, Kendall Coyne Schofield and Hayley Scamurra scored for the Americans, with four goals in the second period to put it out of reach.

The U.S. will now face the winner of Canada vs. Switzerland for the gold. That game will take place later today at 3:10 p.m. ET/12:10 p.m. PT.

Barnes got the scoring started early, netting her first goal of the Olympics with 14:51 left in the opening period. Team USA outshot Sweden 13-2 in the first, but held just a 1-0 lead.

That all changed in the second period, when the U.S. couldn’t stop scoring. Heise scored on a 2-on-1 break with 10:51 to push the lead to 2-0. Then, Murphy, Coyne Schofield and Scamurra scored on three straight shots in less than three minutes to blow the game open.

The third period was quiet, with neither side scoring as goaltender Aerin Frankel secured the shutout. She saved all 23 shots faced.

The U.S. is now 6-0 in the Olympics, outscoring opponents 31-1 after allowing Czechia to score in the opener. Team USA has scored 28 consecutive goals without allowing one, a stretch that has lasted 331 minutes and 23 seconds of on-ice time.

Team USA has already faced both Canada and Switzerland in the 2026 Olympics, beating both teams 5-0 in the preliminary round. This is the fifth straight Olympics where the U.S. will play for gold following a victory in 2018 and losses in 2010, 2014 and 2022 — all against Canada.

The gold medal game against the Canada-Switzerland winner is set for Thursday, Feb. 19, at 1:10 p.m. ET/10:10 a.m. PT. Sweden’s bronze medal game against the loser will be the same day at 8:40 a.m. ET/5:40 a.m. PT.
