Jamaica looks to get their CONCACAF Gold Cup trek started on the right foot on Monday night when they go up against Guatemala.
The Gold Cup has been a staple of the continental football landscape since 1991. While the U.S., Canada and Mexico have dominated the tournament, it has given smaller countries the opportunity to play at a high level.

Jamaica has seemingly managed to be a team that has caused a stir in CONCACAF competition. The Caribbean nation has managed to make it to the semifinals in four of the last five editions of the Gold Cup, making it to the championship match in 2015 and 2017. However, they have never been able to make it over the hump.
We will wait and see if they can get it done this year, hoping to overcome the disappointment of losing in the Nations League Quarterfinals this season.
Guatemala would like to build off its most recent performance at the Gold Cup, losing in the quarterfinals for the first time in 12 years in 2023, resulting in a fifth-place finish.
Jamaica is 12-4-3 against Guatemala, including a 3-0 win last Tuesday in FIFA World Cup qualification.
