EthCC, Europe’s largest Ethereum conference, returns to Cannes with the launch of The Agora, providing a curated space to discuss the future of institutional blockchain finance.
Cannes, France, February 2, 2026 – EthCC (Ethereum Community Conference), the largest annual European Ethereum conference, for the community, by the community, returns for its ninth edition, EthCC[9], between March 30th and April 2nd, 2026, in Cannes, France.
“2026 is the year of professionalisation of Ethereum and the wider crypto ecosystem. We are witnessing remarkable momentum across the board. Ethereum’s scalability improvements through Fusaka, an uptick in daily active addresses, and adoption by banks such as JPMorgan all point to a period of rapid convergence between traditional finance and DeFi. To further this momentum, we’re proud this year to support the first edition of The Agora, in partnership with Kaiko, creating a forum where institutional players can explore the future of onchain finance. Ethereum moved to the center of this transformation in 2025, and as that momentum continues into 2026, we’re excited to bring the community together at this pivotal moment,” said Jerome de Tychey, founder and president of Ethereum France.
As crypto and mainstream finance draw ever closer, experts from across the world will come to Cannes this spring to explore the industry’s next steps. This year’s edition focuses on institutions, as regulatory frameworks like MiCA continue to evolve and the US grapples with the CLARITY Act, developments shaping how blockchain merges with traditional finance.
With the new crypto tax reporting rules providing clarity across Europe and MiCA’s framework establishing comprehensive standards by mid-2026, the EU is creating a robust framework for digital asset growth. These developments set clearer guidelines for exchanges, stablecoins, and institutions, positioning European markets as global leaders in the digital innovation space.
Against this backdrop of institutional adoption, EthCC will provide a critical venue for industry leaders to discuss the future of onchain finance.
“We’re looking forward to building on last year’s successes. The fact that Robinhood and Vitalik Buterin chose EthCC for flagship announcements last year shows that this conference and the community we represent are leaders in blockchain finance. We’re welcoming more institutional partners this year and aim to help them understand how the future of finance is being built on Ethereum,” said Bettina Boon Falleur, head of EthCC.
EthCC[9] and The Agora will gather more than 400 speakers from around the world for four days of talks, workshops, and community-led side events. Key speakers include Vitalik Buterin, Co-founder of Ethereum; Jean-Marc Stenger, CEO of Societe Generale-Forge, and Stani Kulechov, CEO of Aave.
As institutional interest surges, the conference’s mission remains clear: champion those building a positive, open, and abundant Ethereum ecosystem.
