NVIDIA spent a large sum of cash repurchasing its own shares last fiscal year.

NVIDIA’s latest earnings report features a lot of insight to the company’s last quarter (and full year) of operation. One of the more interesting details from the annual report is that NVIDIA spent $40 billion on share buybacks during the period.

NVIDIA’s official SEC filing includes details about its share repurchases. “During fiscal 2026, NVIDIA returned $41.1 billion to shareholders in the form of shares repurchased and cash dividend,” the company wrote in a statement.

NVIDIA still has an additional $58.5 billion in its repurchasing program following the end of last quarter. As the company laid out in its statement, stock buybacks can be used to return money to shareholders. Other large companies have done the same in recent quarters.

The stock buybacks are just a slice of the day’s NVIDIA news. The tech company also released its earnings results for the latest quarter and provided a forecast for the upcoming one.
