HOLLAND, MI — Make boat watching from an imported Amdega conservatory from England a daily occurrence.
The French Provincial estate at 1933 South Shore Dr. on Lake Macatawa makes lakeside living luxurious with its large entertainment space, intricate detail and curated antiques
Listed at $6.5 million by Andrea Crossman of Coldwell Banker Woodland Schmidt, the 4-bedroom and 4-bathroom French Provincial manor is MLive’s House of the Week. Homes from across the state are showcased each Wednesday.

The lakeside home, finished in 2002, was built by West Michigan custom home builder Scott Christopher. Crossman said the home is a unique opportunity for homebuyers looking near the lakeshore.
“I have heard many people say it’s their favorite house on the lake. It really stands out partly because of it’s location and proximity to the yacht club, which is important. But also, its the only French Provincial house on the lake — with its size and style. It’s beautiful,” Crossman said.
“There’s great craftsmanship that was designed through collaboration between builder Scott Christopher and the homeowners who were wanted a beautiful one of a kind home.“
The home was finished while homeowner Jim Jurries and his late wife, Ginger, were vacationing in France. While in Europe, the couple had curated French antiques shipped home.
Jurries said the home was born out of Ginger’s affinity for French food and artistry.
“She was impetuous when it came to France and French food,” Jurries said. “She was a Francophile and had a real taste for the architecture and style.”
Some of the furnishings, rugs and art are negotiable, including many French antiques curated and shipped from France specifically for the home.
The interior of the estate exhibits 14,415 square feet of finely crafted and designed living space with high-end finishes.
The huge great room and dining room, complete with a wet bar and two fireplaces, makes entertaining a breeze. The space opens up from the front entry and can easily accommodate 100 people.
The space flows into the large gourmet kitchen, which has an informal dining area in the glass conservatory, center island and large butler’s pantry.

The home has four en suites. The nicest of the three upstairs is on the east side, featuring a gas fireplace, two double and single closet, an attic storage and an alluring private bath with hand painted mural.
The outside is equally impressive. The landscaping is spectacular, and the bluestone patio and lawn are perfect for summer entertaining. French balconies overlook the patio from the home’s second floor.
Nestled on 210 feet of prime Lake Macatawa frontage, the home is located just east of the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club and Eldean’s Marina. It includes a steel seawall and refurbished 200-foot deep-water dock with two boat slips.
With direct access to Lake Michigan, boating enthusiasts can easily take a short trip to Lake Michigan or a longer cruise to Milwaukee or Chicago.
