Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets appear to have overcome the qualms, as the Nifty is trading with a rise of around 150 points and now above 23,500. The Nifty Bank index is down about 200 points, falling towards the 54,000 mark. Tata Steel, Eternal and M&M are among the biggest gainers.
Market breadth remained positive, with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 3:2, indicating broader buying interest. The Midcap index outperformed and snapped its four-day losing streak, climbing 559 points to end at 55,174.
Among sectoral indices, Nifty Bank gained 463 points to close at 54,876, while Nifty Auto extended its rally from the previous session, rising over 2% amid continued buying momentum.
On the Nifty, Eternal, Tata Steel, M&M, HDFC Life, and BEL emerged as top gainers, advancing between 2% and 6%. BEL also rose over 2% after securing an order worth ₹1,011 crore.
In the broader market, SAIL, BSE, APL Apollo Tubes, and KPIT Tech were among the top midcap gainers, rising 4–6%. MOIL surged 19% after the company outlined plans to achieve manganese production of 9 lakh tonnes in the fourth quarter.
Electronics manufacturing players Cyient DLM, Amber Enterprises, and Syrma SGS Technology gained up to 5% after JPMorgan upgraded the stocks to ‘overweight’.
Vedanta edged higher after the NCLT rejected its plea to acquire Jaiprakash Associates under the insolvency process.
On the downside, Urban Company slipped 3% following the end of its shareholder lock-in period, which saw a ₹385 crore block deal. Oil marketing companies HPCL, BPCL, and IOC fell around 2% each after Kotak Institutional Equities cut target prices on the stocks.
