The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 rode a solid day for tech stocks to record closing highs.
The Nasdaq gained 1%, marking its first record close since Nov. 11. The S&P 500 rose 0.2%, building on Friday’s record close. The Dow, which also closed at a record on Friday, dipped 129 points, or 0.3%.
The yield on the 2-year Treasury note rose to 4.197%, which was slightly higher than the 10-year yield at 4.193%. That represents the latest inversion of the so-called yield curve, signaling continued uncertainty about the path forward for interest rates, inflation, and the economy.
