Here’s what CNBC TV’s producers were watching as the S & P 500 touched a fresh high, and what’s on the radar for the next session. Big industrials Caterpillar and Honeywell both report quarterly numbers live on ” Squawk Box ” Thursday morning with Becky Quick, Andrew Ross Sorkin and Joe Kernen. They’ll have the numbers and the instant stock reaction. Caterpillar shares have gained 22% in the past three months. The stock is off 2% from last week’s high. Honeywell has added 7.2% in the past three months. The stock is down 5% from the July high. The S & P Industrials sector is up almost 6% in 2026. Generac is the leader in the sector so far this year, up around 28%. GNRC YTD mountain Generac in 2026 Mastercard The credit card company reports Thursday morning. Results will also be featured on “Squawk Box.” Mastercard has fallen nearly 8% in three months, and the stock is off 13% from the August high. Apple Apple reports after the bell. The stock has dropped nearly 5% over the past three months. Shares are 11% from the December high. In the past year, Apple has advanced 7.6%. AAPL YTD mountain Apple in 2026 Microsoft and Meta Platforms Meta is up 7% after hours. The company reported better-than-expected earnings and revenue in the fourth quarter. First-quarter revenue guidance was also robust. Microsoft is down more than 6% after hours. Top- and bottom-line results beat estimates in the fiscal second quarter , but the big Azure unit didn’t do well enough to impress investors. CNBC TV’s Morgan Brennan will have much more on both tech giants Thursday morning live in ” Worldwide Exchange ” at 5 a.m. ET. Chips The iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) and VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) were both up more than 2%. Both hit new highs on Wednesday. The SMH is up about 16% so far in 2026. The SOXX is up 19.7% in 2026.
