Raising Cane’s owner Todd Graves has purchased a condo building in downtown Nashville for a record-breaking $75 million, according to a report from the Nashville Business Journal.

The space on city’s famed Broadway Street, known for its nightlife and honky-tonk bars, was previously home to a Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. The sale broke records for the area, the business journal reported, coming in at a per-square-foot price of around $2,870.

Graves, a Baton Rouge native and one of Louisiana’s richest people, has continued to expand his fast-food fried chicken operation across the U.S. and the globe in recent years. He recently opened a Raising Cane’s location in Nashville, a block away from his new building on Broadway.

Reports say Graves made another massive Nashville purchase in July of 2024 when he bought a 4,000 square-foot penthouse condo atop the city’s Four Seasons hotel for a $15 million.

The fried chicken king is one of the wealthiest people in the world, according to a Forbes’ 2024 billionaires list, joining Gayle Benson as the richest person in Louisiana. Graves’ net worth is about $9.1 billion, making him the 270th richest person in the world.
