US Stock Market today: The benchmark indices opened with a set of mixed emotions on Thursday, as investor concerns loomed over Oracle’s artificial intelligence (AI) spending plans, which took over the US Fed’s rate cut momentum.

According to MarketWatch data, Oracle stock dropped over 16% to hit its intraday low level at $186.23 during the US stock market session on Thursday, after the lower-than-expected quarterly revenue in its financial results.

“Oracle faces its own mounting scrutiny over a debt-fueled data centre build-out and concentration risk amid questions over the outcome of AI spending uncertainty,” Jacob Bourne, an analyst at Emarketer, told the news agency Bloomberg.

The news agency’s report also highlighted that investors are now looking towards seeing Oracle turn its higher spending on infrastructure into revenue as quickly as it has promised.

The US Federal Reserve cuts the key interest rates of the US economy by 25 basis points to 3.50%-3.75% amid elevated US inflation on Wednesday, 10 December 2025.
