Where Does Bruno Mars Live? Examining the Singer’s Real Estate Portfolio

A 2013 Rolling Stone feature revealed that Mars kept a dark-brown wooden Steinway piano in the fireplace-warmed living room and that his morning routine included a swim in the backyard pool with his rottweiler, Geronimo. Per GQ, the “Locked Out of Heaven” singer decorated one living area with a trio of Elvis movie posters that once belonged to his father, who at one point ran an Elvis-themed gift shop in Mars’s hometown of Honolulu. Another wall is decorated with a large copy of Frank Sinatra’s 1938 mug shot. “That was the first art piece I bought,” the musician told GQ.

The “Grenade” singer sold the property for $3.35 million in an off-market deal in 2015.

Honolulu home

In 2012, Mars paid $3.1 million for a Balinese-style Honolulu home with four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, spanning 4,100 square feet. The gated 1991-built property featured columns made of reclaimed driftwood, stone floors, vaulted ceilings, and dark-wood moldings. A formal dining room, a living room with a wet bar, and a primary suite with a spa-like bathroom are among the interior highlights, while the lush grounds hosted a paved patio with a lounge, swimming pool, a cabana with a barbecue, and an outdoor shower.

According to a 2016 Rolling Stone feature, it seems that Mars bought the two-story home for his mother, who passed away suddenly in 2013. “I’d just bought her this house in Hawaii, and she would call me almost every day to tell me how much fun she’s having, she and the grandkids are in the pool, running around in the yard,” the musician told the outlet. “To this day, I don’t know how to handle it.”

Mars sold the home for $2.7 million in 2015.

Upgraded LA mansion

The singer-songwriter moved into a $6.5 million two-acre property with a 9,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion in September 2014 with his girlfriend, model and designer Jessica Caban. The gated Studio City estate, not far from his previous pad, came with a slew of outdoor amenities, including a cabana, an infinity pool and spa, a playground, and expansive views of the surrounding canyon, mountains, and city skyline.

The 2000-built house opens with a double-height rotunda entry, leading into a living room, a family room equipped with a wet bar and a wine cellar, and a formal dining room adjacent to an eat-in chef’s kitchen. Mars’s primary suite features a fireplace, a sitting room, an office, walk-in closets, steam and dry saunas, and a coffee bar. In total, there are seven bedrooms and eight baths. Tall ceilings, bay windows, arched doorways, and intricate moldings are found throughout.

The “Leave the Door Open” singer still maintains the home.
