The light rain hasn’t managed to keep the fun lovers away as the Stourbridge Carnival returns for this year’s fantastic annual event.
The carnival event this year has taken over Coventry Street, High Street and Market Street, Stourbridge, filling the town with lively music, fun entertainment and plenty of food to get stuck into.
The carnival returns each year and sees thousands of people visit the town to take part in the festivities of the day, which this year include plenty of stilt walkers, jugglers, peaky blinders and even the occasional cowboy.
Darren Wilkins, of Gornal, is visiting with his two daughters. He said: “We love it. It’s been a great day.
“We like trying all the different foods that you might not get to have normally. It’s a good vibe for the town.”
A fan favourite is the vintage and military vehicles, with the military vehicle parade seeing dozens of armed forces machines from days gone by stationed in the town.
Mr Wilkins added: “We like seeing all the vintage stuff too. The kids like seeing the Peaky Blinders and the cars.
“It’s a really good day out.”
The event features plenty of activities to get involved in, with many charities also hosting fun games to help fundraise for their causes.
Suzanne Webb OBE has been helping on the Royal British Legion stand, she has been there since the early hours of this morning, she said: “It’s a fantastic day here at Stourbridge Carnival.
“If you’re visiting, don’t forget to stop by the Royal British Legion stand and come and show your support. The legion isn’t just for two weeks of the year selling poppies, we are working all year round to support our veterans.”
